Building a simulator room is exciting right up until you realize your ceiling might be six inches too low, your projector is casting a shadow on the screen, or the rig you ordered doesn’t fit through the door. SimSpaceDesign exists to help you avoid those expensive surprises.
What SimSpaceDesign Covers
Most gear sites tell you which product to buy. We focus on the part they skip: the space itself. Every guide here is built around room dimensions, layout, clearances, and the practical details that decide whether a setup actually works in your home.
- Golf simulator bays: ceiling height, swing clearance, projector placement, impact screens, enclosures, mats, and launch monitors.
- Sim racing rigs: cockpit footprints, monitor layouts, field of view, and fitting a rig into a spare room or garage.
- Flight sim cockpits: yoke and throttle mounting, desk and chair setups, and screen or VR layouts.
How We Research
SimSpaceDesign was started by Krishna, a data analyst who spends his working life turning messy numbers into clear decisions. That same approach runs through this site.
Our guides are built from manufacturer specifications, published installation requirements, and real owner reports from the simulator community. Where we use measurements, we show our math so you can check it against your own room. When a guide is based on research rather than hands-on use, we say so. We would rather be honest about where information comes from than pretend to have tested something we have not.
How This Site Is Funded
SimSpaceDesign is free to read. We earn money through display advertising and affiliate links. If you buy something through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never decides what we recommend, and products are never ranked because they pay more. You can read the details in our Affiliate Disclosure.
